Coach Chuck grew up as a multi-sport athlete who faced major challenges throughout his life, high school was no exception. An elbow injury that required surgery kept him out of sports his freshman year. As a sophomore his dad was diagnosed with cancer of the spine and underwent chemotherapy and radiation treatment. During this time, he stayed home to help his family for most of the school year, which led to his G.P.A. dropping to a 1.9. His dad overcame the cancer yet Coach Chuck was now deemed ineligible to play sports for the first 7 weeks of his junior football season. He took this time to work hard on raising his grades and when he did get an opportunity to play, he earned The “Defensive Back Of The Year” award as well as shining as a top 3 wide receiver in Northern California at Stanford University’s Annual Nike Camp. He went on to help his team win the CCS Championship in which he returned the opening kickoff 95 yards for the games first touchdown.
His showing at the camp and in the championship game brought nationwide interest, landing him over 15 full ride scholarships to various colleges around the country. He decided to commit to U.C. Berkeley but in order to attend he had to raise his cumulative G.P.A to above a 3.0, score high on the SAT, and retake the classes he failed. Coach Chuck enrolled in eight classes his senior year including two at a junior college to complete the requirements. Once again, he focused in and worked hard, finishing his senior year with a 3.8 G.P.A and a 1580 on his SAT putting him well above the requirements he needed to attend Berkeley. Once at Berkeley, Coach Chuck became a rising star as a freshman receiver until being pushed into the concrete wall during a touchdown catch in the corner of the end zone, resulting in fractured ribs. He was forced to redshirt but pushed through the adversity, earning the “Scout Team Player Of The Year” award for helping his team to a winning season and Bowl Victory over the Miami Hurricanes. Entering his sophomore year in college he became a Student-Athlete Adviser on campus in which he mentored and helped other college athletes adjust to life away from home as well as Berkeley’s highly competitive education and athletic standards. Coach chuck played his entire sophomore season as a receiver and special teams game changer, earning him a “Big C” award and the “Iron Man” Award.
Unfortunately before the start of his Junior season, Coach Chuck endured a career ending shoulder tear which changed the path of his life. He thought he was destined for the NFL but God had a much more impactful plan. After his recovery from surgery, Coach Chuck turned his life to God and made it his mission to help others achieve their goals by providing insight, guidance, mentoring, and specialized training to do so. After 8 years of living out this mission, Coach Chuck has trained and mentored over 100 student-athletes in which nearly a dozen have went on to play professional sports and over 20 have earned scholarships to college. He now trains and mentors people of all ages and backgrounds. The story continues as 2020 has brought the introduction of Cyber Sports & Fitness. A brand new way to interact and help others reach their goals.
